nehalem falls

Picture-18-1
Just toward the ocean, and south of Portland, Nehalem Falls campground was one of the better sites I’ve been to in Oregon; almost all these car camps have great facilities (vault toilets, water pumps, etc.). Luxurious, but not European deluxe. There were some teenagers that camped nearby that were a little loud at night, but not terribly obnoxious. They slept in their cars :( . A fabulous drive through is included in the package, but don’t miss the campground down the gravel road like I did. :)

Picture-2-1
In the late afternoon light, kids frolicked and toasted toes and marshmallows. But, what fabulous light you say?

Picture-4-1
Just how much mastery of the sun can one have? How can the light balance so perfectly and light subjects so well in the middle of a forest?

Picture-6-1
Quite easily, actually…

If you brought your light with you!

Oh, my; the secret is revealed!

I kept telling Jonathan that it’s not waterproof.

Additionally, there are more photos in the gallery for your perusal, including a well-if-that-thirty-something-dad-is-going-to-then-I-will sequence of Kale launching off a 15ft. drop. more»
